Siobhan K Whadcoat

Background: Undergraduate in Geography (2009), Masters (by Research) in Geography (2010), and PhD in Geography (2016) all from Durham University, UK. Masters thesis: "Landsliding and sediment dynamics following the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, China"; PhD thesis: "Numerical modelling of rockfall evolution in hard rock slopes". My research focuses on slope stability, particularly on improving our ability to forecast potential rockfall and landslide hazards. Also very interested in improving Geoscience education, specifically through the introduction of geomatics and geospatial data. Having recently completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at UBC (Canada) I am now an adjunct teaching Natural Disasters: Geology vs Hollywood, and the labs for National Parks.
